Studio Manager & Sr. Engineer

Our Studio Manager & Sr. Engineer will focus primarily on managing A Studio and operations for our Fairfax property/location.

REPORTS TO: VP of Operations 

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities.

Studio

  • Manage studio bookings, A Studio calendar, and enforce all studio booking policies.

  • Deliver weekly schedule availability to the A&R team.

  • Deliver A&R session counts on a weekly basis to Mike/Gabi.

  • Manage 816 vendors, proactively scheduling service, troubleshooting office issues, including studio server IT support.

  • Complete studio billing on a monthly basis, following up with A&R staff to make sure billing info is being properly communicated.

  • Deliver invoices to clients as they are provided by the finance team.

  • Partner with the finance team on a weekly basis to make sure invoices are being paid, following up on any outstanding invoices.

  • Work with all 3rd party clients to ensure proper billing and PO info is being communicated.

  • Proactively find tenants for A Studio leases and manage A Studio P&L.

  • Supervise the studio team, being primarily responsible for the promotion, discipline and long term development of the staff.

  • Engineer priority and/or last minute recording sessions as requested.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage the movement of A Studio engineers and assistants.

  • Provide day-to-day studio oversight, being present and visible every day at the studio.

  • Communicate new studio policies, host team team meetings, and coordinate A Studio/816 events.

  • Manage A Studio socials, driving weekly posts of content and reels.

Operations

  • Approve Employee Timekeeping: Review and approve the recorded work hours for all studio employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Invoice Submission Management: Handle the submission of all invoices through the JotForm platform, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments.

  • Vendor Coordination and Management: Oversee relationships with all office vendors, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, cleaning services, gardening, waste management, video surveillance, and access control systems. Ensure timely maintenance and service delivery.

  • Quarterly Vendor Scheduling: Organize and schedule quarterly services such as studio deep cleaning, window washing, and pest control, ensuring that the studio environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.

  • Office Supplies and Consumables Management: Manage the procurement and restocking of office snacks, ensuring that the office environment remains comfortable and conducive to employee productivity.

  • Amazon and Water Delivery Procurement: Oversee the purchasing of necessary office supplies via Amazon and manage the water delivery service specifically for the Fairfax office.

  • Technology and Security Oversight: Coordinate internet service updates, manage quarterly server and SonicWall updates, and oversee the ADT alarm system to ensure the security and operational integrity of the office's technology infrastructure.

  • Support with AirBnb ad hoc requests through the end of year. 

Preferred Experience  

  • Minimum 3 years engineering and managing a recording studio.

  • Experience servicing, purchasing, and maintaining studio gear.

  • 1-3 years experience overseeing a team of contingent workers.
