Royalty and Revenue Manager

APG is looking for an analytical and data driven individual to join the finance and accounting team to administer and process artist royalties.  As the Royalties & Revenue Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that artists, producers, and partners receive accurate and timely royalty statements and payments. You’ll be responsible for managing royalty accounting operations, interpreting artist and 3rd party contracts, and analyzing revenue data to ensure full compliance with agreements. Additionally, you will work closely with the finance team, and cross-functionally with legal and A&R teams to optimize processes, manage inquiries, and resolve any discrepancies related to royalty calculations and payments. This position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of music industry contracts, a deep knowledge of royalty systems, and a passion for the music industry.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the setup and processing of artist royalties in accordance with contracts.

  • Manage the monthly revenue accounting process, including collection, analysis, reporting, audits.

  • Work with the A&R Admin team to interpret agreements for 3rd party participants and set up in royalty system

  • Work with the legal team to ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocation and compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Working with artist attorneys to confirm all 3P royalty payments.

  • Manage inquiries from artists, managers, and internal teams regarding royalty payments and statements.

Requirements 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in artist royalties, preferably in a record label or music publishing environment.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information and inquiries 

  • Proficiency in royalty accounting software and Excel.

Beneficial Experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of music distribution platforms and digital revenue streams is a plus

  • Experience with Curve royalty system is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Compensation Range

  • $80k - $100k

  • The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualification of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
